The Germany based car manufacturer giant has officially announced that the wait for the Vento is now over. The company would be launching the car on the 6th of July all over India.
The Vento which is based on a the Polo model, is now challenged to step in to the territory of the Hyundai Verna and the Honda City which are blowing the sales charts everywhere.
The price of the car would be starting at Rs. 7 Lakh onwards and the top end versions would be costing around 9 Lakhs.
The Vento will be having an extra wheelbase of 50mm compared to the Polo, which means the leg room in the car would be increased directly and that would make this car more spacious than the Polo.
The heart of the car, the engines, would be of two variants, the petrol and the diesel versions. The Petrol version of the car would be a 1.6 ltr engine producing 105 bhp and the diesel too would be a common rail four cylinder 1.6 ltr, producing 105 bhp.
Volkswagen would be coming up with both manual and automatic transmissions and later would introduce a six speed DSG gear box engine.
The car will feature more leg room, head and shoulder room, and better seats. The dash board equipments too have improved, with an extra chrome touch than the Polo. The car will be assembled at the Chakan plant in Pune, alongside with the Polo and the Skoda Fabia hatchbacks.
