Rima Fakih, who became the first Muslim to be crowned Miss USA 2010, has openly disagreed about the Mosque plan near Ground Zero. She stated that the Mosque plan will be a very sensitive subject towards the victims of 9/11, and that the people should be concerned about the tragedy and not the religion.

Fakih said that she agrees to the points of President Obama, that there are Constitutional rights of freedom of Religion but she also agrees that there should be no Mosque near the World Trade Center site. The plans of the Muslim community is to build a 13 story community center and a Mosque just two blocks away from the World Trade Center Ground Zero.

This plan and Mr. President’s agreement to it became a huge controversy in the US, even though President Obama has stated that he has not supported the plan, that they should build the Mosque near Ground Zero, but rather stated that he was reminding them of the Constitutional Rights of Religion. Fakih herself is a Muslim and is observing the month of Ramadan, but she does not agree to the fact that there should be a Mosque near the World Trade Center.

Just hours after making history of an Arab American becoming Miss USA, recent photographs of her pole dancing in a strip club have created ripples all over the internet.

Rima Fakih was crowned Miss USA 2010 on Sunday at the Planet Holywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Strip.

The internet is breezing with multiple tabloids reporting her alleged raunchy act. Her photographs were from the 2007 women’s only stripper class and the radio station contest, which were published by TMZ. She had won the Stripper 101 contest in Detroit in 2007. Well as for her crown, after such an incident coming up the pageant officials have not come up with a concrete decision on the matter.

As for the past Miss USA’s, there has always been controversies surrounding some of them. One such example was last year’s finalist, Carrie Prejean, who had gained some nationwide controversy for her self. She had openly spoken in the contest about anti-gay marriages that had some sparks all over their community and later some of her topless photos that had come up could not be erased from our minds.
