Hollywood actor, Michael Douglas, is said to be cancer free as he had been diagnosed with Throat Cancer earlier last year. The Actor was at the ‘Today Show’ and during the interview he said that he is completely free from his cancer. He said that now he feels quite revived and relieved, but he still needs to go for monthly check-ups, to keep in touch with his regular treatment.

Michael said that the cancerous tumour is completely gone, and that he is feeling very good after this. Even though he is optimistic about being cancer free, he still undergoes chemotherapy to treat the tumour which was at the base of his tongue.

Douglas, 66, sat comfortably during his interview, the glow and smile on his face said it all. He said “I think the odds are with the tumor gone, and what I know about this particular type of cancer [is] that I’ve got it beat.” He added that as he is recovering, he has got back his appetite and now he will work to start gaining some weight, which he had lost during the treatments.

Douglas was diagnosed with a cancer, as after a biopsy the doctors found a tumor of a size of a walnut inside him. He is scheduled for radiation treatment for five days in a week, which will last for eight weeks and in addition to this he will also undergo chemotherapy once in three weeks.

Douglas, 65, has been diagnosed with cancer, and has stated that the biggest cause of this sickness, is his smoking and drinking. The doctors have stated the Douglas will undergo a chemotherapy, which will last for eight weeks.

His doctors have stated that his cancer is dangerous but not incurable, it can be defeated. Michael himself has stated that he will recover totally from this sickness. The doctors said that along with chemotherapy, Douglas will also undergo radiation, to completely destroy the cancer.

Douglas has been well known for his roles in the movies like, Basic Instinct, Wonder Boys and Wall Street. His doctor has stated that this sort of cancer is curable and 60-70% of the patients with throat cancer survive.
