Raj Kiran found in mental asylum in Atlanta


In a shocking revelation, actor Raj Kiran, who was seen in the movies like ‘Karz’ and ‘Arth’ has been found in a mental asylum in the US. The actor has been absconding for long and it was also rumoured that the actor has died.

The person, who traced Raj out was, Rishi Kapoor, who was his co-star in the movie ‘Karz’. Close friends of the actor had started to locate Raj after the reports of his death had surfaced. Even his co-star Deepti Naval had posted a message of the fan book page of Raj by requesting him to reach out.

However, Rishi managed to locate the actor when he had made a trip to the US and was shocked to find him in a mental asylum in Atlanta. Moreover, the actor was even more shocked when he learnt that Raj did not have any money to pay for his treatment and thus worked for the same institution in order to compensate.

Raj was abandoned by his wife and children. Even his family did not bother to take care of the actor. Raj had reportedly going through some domestic problems due to which he had ended up in depression. The actor was earlier admitted to a mental asylum in Byculla in Mumbai but was later taken to the US by his brothers.

Asha Bhosle Turns 77 Today – The Singer Is A Gift To Indian Music Industry


Padma Bhushan awardee, Asha Bhosle will be celebrating her 77th birthday on September 8. One of the most versatile singers of the Bollywood, she has been lending her voice since past six decades and still continues to do so.

She has sung for almost all the leading ladies, right from Vyjayanthimala to Urmila Matondkar and also for all the leading music composers. The song, ‘Maang ke saath tumhara’ from the film Naya Daur that was released in the year 1957 can be called as her launching pad.

Her other hits like ‘Dum maro dum’ from the film Hare Rama Hare Krishna, ‘Mehbooba mehbooba’ from Sholay, ‘Mera kuch saaman’ from Ijaazat, ‘Piya tu ab to aaja’ Caravan and ‘Chura liya hai tum ne’ from Yaadon Ki Baraat are still adored by this generation as well. All these songs were composed by RD Burman.

Asha once said, “Pancham (RDBurman) had this unique quality of bringing out the best in every artiste by making him or her feel comfortable. He knew how to make me sing to get the maximum effect in every situation.”
