The IPL (Indian Premier League Auction) has commenced at Bangalore, and it is reported that Rohit Sharma has taken a spot in the Mumbai Indians Squad, Ganguly on the hand is stranded in No Man’s Land, as no takers have opted for him. Saturday is the judgement day for every player on an international level at the Bangalore auction, as this year the IPL is having 10 teams to flood in.

Rohit Sharma’s services were bought for $2 million, and if this is big then, Yusuf Pathan and Gautam Gambhir were bought for a whooping $2.4 million by Kolkata Knight Riders. The Knight Riders also purchased Jacques Kallis for $1.1 million, and this thanks to his exquisite performance during the test series against India, his stakes just kept rising.
Sourav Ganguly on the other hand went unsold, which is really sad, and maybe it could because of his age and performance capacity, the former Indian captain could not find a hammer for himself. Andrew Symonds was sold to Mumbai Indians for $850,000, exiciting for him as he will participate with a team who were the runner ups for the last IPL. Sangakkara went to Deccan Chargers for $700,000, finally shifted from Kings XI Punjab, and the team hopes he performs well.
Royal Challengers on the other hand purchased AB de Villiers for $1.1 million, Zaheer Khan for $900,000 and Dilshan for $650,000. Pune Warriors, the newest team in the IPL lot, successfully purchased Yuvraj Singh for $1.8 million, and Kochi on the other hand managed to bag Mahela Jayawardene for $1.5 million.

Fake Indian Premiere League’s Player, whose blogs hit the headlines during the IPL’s second season in 2009 has come out in open and exposed himself to a news channel. Anupam Mukherji, on Saturday, August 28, 2010 through ‘Times Now’ has defended himself.

He said, “The entire speculation was created by the media. The stories that I wrote, the nicknames I provided etc were all based on my imagination and research on the Kolkata Knight Riders. Everyone was made to believe that it was an insider. In fact, I had conducted a poll as well in the middle where I asked the readers who they thought the fake IPL player was and maximum votes were given to the option of none of the above.
This certainly showed that everyone had their own idea of the fake IPL player,” he said.
“I don’t think something like this will happen in the near future. I also don’t see myself getting into trouble for the fake IPL blog. It was just a blog, where we post our personal thoughts.”
Mukerji’s hoax blogs looked as if he was someone from the team or someone closely associated with the team.

The South African company who hired the cheerleaders for the IPL series, is allegedly involved in some doubtful actions, according to one of the senior members of Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI). The probe regarding the matter is on, by the BCCI.

The Cheerleaders for the Deccan Chargers IPL team
It has asked for all the details regarding the cheerleaders to the Bangalore based firm, DNA Networks, that took care of the ground entertainment for all the IPL franchisees.
The doubts started with the display of a scroll that used to make appearance during the broadcast of IPL 3 matches. The scroll urged the viewers to call at the number mentioned in the scroll to chat with the cheerleaders and few of the board members who chose to be anonymous.
The board had asked for the explanations to the Managing Director, Venkat Vardhan of DNA Networks. To this he clearly denied his involvement in the matter of ‘scroll’.
He said, “The board has brought this up with me and I have clarified that we had nothing to do with this scroll. Nobody contacted us, and it was not done with our cooperation. The board will ask the broadcasters about how such a scroll appeared,” he said.
Cheerleading was introduced in cricket with the start of the Indian Premium League (IPL) matches in 2008.
