In some surprise for the IT industry, Mohandas Pai from Infosys has resigned from his post. Pai was the member of the board and the director in charge of the Human Resource Development of the company.
The news came along with the Q4 results, with some disappointing profit and revenue according to the analysts. The resignation of Mohandas came as a surprise and shock and was the biggest resignation after Nandan Nilkeni had left the company.
Pai has resigned from his post, which will be effective from 11th June 2011, after the Annual general meeting of the company takes place. Mohandas’s decision to quit the company is being discussed every where in the industry, but till now no reasons have been disclosed for the resignation.
Pai had joined Infosys in the year 1994 and was the Chief financial officer till 2006. From 2000, he became the member of the board. Further leadership plans will be discussed by the company later this month. Chairman Narayan Murthy is due to retire in August this year. Narayan Murthy said that it will be difficult to imagine Infosys without the presence of Pai. Murthy also expressed his gratitude towards Pai for his passion and commitment towards the company.
