The day is finally here, when the Indian cricket team will be fighting out the final match against the Sri Lankan team, at the World Cup Finals. After the terrific win against the Pakistanis at the semifinals, the morals have increased and so has the pressure.

The whole country is right now on their toes, waiting for the big moment to arrive. It was said that it is more essential for the Indians to win against the Pakistani’s in the semifinals, no matter what happens at the finals.

But now the scene has changed. People have become superstitious and so have the Dhonis. The family of the captain of the Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have forcefully locked themselves at their residence.

Dhoni’s elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni had said that they are refraining from the media due to a reason. In the year 2007, Dhoni’s family was nervous and did not talk to anyone. The same year, Mahi’s team had won the inaugural ICC World Twenty20. So in 2009, they talked openly during the Twenty 20 World Cup in England, and the Indians had lost it. The Dhoni’s now, do not want to take any more chances. The most important match for the Indians and the Sri Lankans, will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

India being the favorites before starting the tournament, with neighbouring archrivals Sri Lanka, have a last chance to win the test series before starting the triangular ODI series with New Zealand being the third team.

India has proved, time and again that they are the top ODI team in the world, but they still have a few critics to prove in the world of test cricket. The Indian batting line up looks strong enough like it ever did, and India is counting on the likes of Tendulkar, Sehwag, Dhoni, Dravid to fire to help India to clich the test series today.

Sri Lanka chose to bat first on the first day of the final test match between India vs Sri Lanka.

England has commenced the first cricket test against Pakistan at Trent Bridge on the 29th of July 2010. The game started at 10.30 GMT (04.00PM Indian Standard Time). England has won four of its last five tests and Pakistan has won only one of its last five tests.

As of now, England are 52/1, with Andrew Strauss and Johnathan Trot on the pitch. England had a wobbly start but Strauss is a firm batsman, everything for the moment looks calm from England’s point of view. A.N. Cook’s wicket was plucked soon before he could launch himself to score some runs. Mohammad Amir took his wicket when Cook was batting on 8 runs.

England have had a good season till now, and Pakistan has returned from Australia after a horrible loss against the Australians. England and Pakistan are scheduled to play four tests and five one day in England.
