Muttiah Muralitharan became the first person in the history of cricket to take 800 wickets in test matches. This feat was done in Galle, Sri Lanka against the first test match against India.

VVS Laxman the last recognized Indian batsman, was run out, Ojha and Ishant Sharma resisted the Sri Lankan bowling attack for the next 15 overs, but Jayawardene’s catch in the slip was enough to break their strong resistance.

India once again has shown to have a poor batting line up, with 292/8, and even when it is India’s second innings, only the rain god now can do some miracles to save India a test today.

On the other hand, Murali, no words are enough for him, he is one wicket away from making cricket history, to be the only person in the cricketing history to take 800 wickets, and India are trying their best not to let him do so. With already eight down and Laxman and Sharma at the crease, the duo really need to show some mettle against the Sri Lankan bowling line-up.
VVS Laxman has saved some honour for India, by letting India resist a defeat by an innings against Sri Lanka, and with that he has also scripted his 44th test fifty. Sharma on the other hand is trying hard to save the test match along with his partner Laxman. Sri Lanka only needs two wickets to seal the test match, and Murali needs one scalp to make a mark into history.
