Hurricane Earl Looks Calm Now Marches Towards Canada, After Scaring US


Hurricane Earl is looking comparatively calm now, and it is marching towards Canada with the storm system, after it scared US with its power. It has been a week of scare from Earl as it had approached the US coast, and specially North Carolina, as it kissed the coast of the state and poured good rain and created tropical storm conditions there.

It will be a warning for the people of Canada who are living on the coast, as the storm system is just 145 miles away from Nova Scotia. Plus en route to Canada, Earl picked up some speed and energy from the Atlantic.

For people in Massachusetts, it is a sigh of relief to see Earl pass by and it looks that life is returning back to normal very soon. There was a state wide power outage, and the authorities have stated that they are working on it. Hurricane Earl has now sustained wind speeds of 70 mph and is moving in the northeast direction at 30 mph.

Hurricane Earl Storm System Weak, Reaches Outer Banks


Hurricane Earl storm system has weakened for the moment, but it successfully reached and hit the Outer Banks. It has now created a tropical storm condition in Outer Banks North Carolina, as the winds speeds at the core have reached 105 mph. Overall the storm system of Earl has weakened but the winds are still powerful to sustain.

According to the weather reports, Earl’s eye is 85 miles east southeast to Cape Hatteras, and is going to stay out into the sea. Wind speeds hitting the Outer Bank are at 58 mph, and after day break authorities will be able to see the damage done by Earl.

There has been a little flooding on the coasts of some counties and there was also a small storm surge witnessed at the coast. There has been some damage to the highways as sand has reached the tar, but the situation in ok for the moment. Earl will be moving out into the Atlantic soon enough.

Hurricane Earl Fear Forces Ocracoke Island People To Evacuate


Hurricane Earl is still showing signs of danger on the coasts of the United States, and now authorities of North Carolina have forced people from the Ocracoke Island to evacuate. Ocracoke Island is an offshore island in the state of North Carolina and can be accessed only by a ferry. The access for the people from the island has become a great worry.

The authorities have forces evacuation from the island and will pull some 5000 people out of there. The evacuation can be done only by ferry and the evacuation process needs to be done fast, as if the Hurricane Earl comes to close then the evacuation from the island will become impossible.

Hurricane Earl has become a category 3 hurricane but chances cannot be taken, and there is continues monitoring done over Earls storm system to watch its development. The hurricane is moving northwest at the speed of 16 mph.

Hurricane Earl Path To Be Away For The US Shores


Hurricane Earl path is now destined to be away from the US shores, which indeed a sigh of relief for the people near the coast. The main state that could have been in the grip of Earl was New Jersey, but now it will be passing from offshore. Still there will be some impact on the Jersey shores as there will be an atmosphere of a tropical storm caused by Earl.

Earl will be bringing rip currents and high surfs along with it, as it kisses the US coast and heads north into the Atlantic. Hurricane Earl had packed up wind speeds of 135 mph and was located at a safe 1000 miles off the coast of Carolina.

It is on Friday that the citizens of New Jersey need to worry a bit, as there will be a 20-30% chance that Earl can change the state’s atmosphere into a tropical storm situation. N.J. can witness wind speeds of 39 mph along with strong rain. It can be officially said that Earl is on its way out, but still our fingers are crossed.

Hurricane Earl Path Towards US, May Reach North By Thursday


There is bad news for the people in the US, concerning the raging Hurricane Earl. The Hurricane Earl path is looking straight towards the US coast of North Carolina, and as per the reports it may arrive there by Thursday this week. The storm system has now sustained wind speeds of 135 mph.

At around 03.00 am ET, Hurricane Earl had formed into a Category 4 hurricane, and was placed some 125 miles aways from the Puerto Rico. The National Hurricane Center stated that it is now heading west at the speed of 13 mph. Later in the week, Earl is scheduled to turn northwest, towards the coast of North Carolina.

It is a strong fear for the people in North Carolina as Earl may reach their coast on Thursday and most probably make landfall. Earl could bring almost 8 inches of rain on the northern Leeward Islands, in the Atlantic. It is said that areas with a high elevation could receive rain fall as much as 12 inches or whole feet.

Hurricane Earl Path Steady, Now A Category 3 Hurricane


Strong recent developments in the path of Hurricane Earl, as it is moving steadily in the northeastern direction in the Caribbean, and has now formed into a category 3 hurricane. The National Hurricane Center has stated that the storm can turn into a category 4 hurricane later during the week. If Earl turns into a category 4 hurricane then it will sustain wind speeds of more than 131 mph.

Earl is looking to bring heavy torrential rain with it, and is the second biggest hurricane in the Atlantic during the hurricane season of 2010. The hurricane center has forecast that, Earl is going to develop into a bigger storm as it approaches the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

If there is still possible developments in the storm system then Earl is likely to hit the US shores and will provide strong damage. But latest reports state that Earl will be moving north, just parallel to the US coast.
