Reasons why name policy of Google + does not work

After the search engine giant Google introduced its social networking site Google +, its name policy has restricted the users a lot. When its policies are compared to the other internet usage policies, it represents a problem.

Google + has put up a condition that the users must sign up only with the name by which they are referred in real life. In defense the social network said that it only has the user’s best interest at heart.

But Google does not realize that it is not doing good enough by making the policies inflexible. It is taking away the opportunity of the comfort of the user to portray himself online.

Further the social network has also insisted that the users must not use offensive names. It has been opined that the user must not be forced such inflexible policies by the social network. On the other hand Google must allow the users to portray themselves by fake or real identities. The decision of the users must not be interfered by the social network. With the pseudo names online the users feel secured enough while interacting with the other users on the internet. With the new policy of the social network, the social network might even get less users in future.

Google to lay down restrictions on handset manufacturers

Search engine giant and software intellect Google, has now set a few regulations for the mobile and device operators. Google has laid down certain rules in term of the releases of the Android operating system.

There has been a phenomenal growth of the Android over the past year. The users now have to put up with different versions of the operating system due to the different types of devises in the market.

The classification of the Android devices was made worse by the mobile manufacturers, as they were unwilling to update the devices to the latest version of the operating system. Due to this, the users were forced to use the old version.

Google has now announced that the companies who are seeking early access to Android, must first get an approval from Andy Rubin, Google’s head of Android development. Google’s Android has been lately proven as a success, which provided the handset users an operating system. The operating system had worked well with some of the names like Motorola and Samsung. The manufacturers had said that the time taken to make the modifications was the reason, the software updates were not released. The move will be a blessing for all those who keep a track on the latest version of Android.

Google soon to introduce mobile payment

Search engine giant Google has planned to collaborate with Mastercard Inc. and Citigroup Inc. to develop a technology, which will allow the consumers to make payments for the purchases, by just waving their mobile phones. The mobile phone will have to be just swayed in front of a small reader at the cash counter, which will complete the transaction.

Google has attempted this move to make the payments easier and to also boost the advertising business. The payment system will allow the retailer with more information about their customers, which will in turn help the retailers to offer them discount offers and advertisements.

Currently, the project is under the initial stages, which will allow the holders of Citigroup to pay for the purchases by activating a mobile payment application on their respective mobile phones. In this way the local retailers will get detailed information about the consumers, so that they can offer the customers more discounts in future.

The good thing is that the consumers will not be at any risk for unauthorized transactions, as in case of any such transaction, the card company will be covering the risk. Google is not even expecting any cut in the transaction fees. The new technology will also help the retailer to keep a track of the consumer about their transaction behavior.

Beijing Government to restore Google’s license In Mainland China

After a months’ long restriction on Google in China, the government of Beijing finally restored Google’s license. The government of China had banned the search engine in the country over censorship issues.

David Drummond, the chief legal officer, Google on Friday posted in a blog, “We are very pleased that the government has renewed our I.C.P. license,” Mr. Drummond wrote referring to an Internet content provider license. “And we look forward to continuing to provide Web search and local products to our users in China.”

Google would have had to withdraw to its official website of China, google.cn, if the license would not been restored. Google had stopped its search service in China in March and had started directing its users to the Hong Kong’s uncensored website.

The present setup allowed people to search and view the results but most of the times the links were inaccessible.
