The famous statue of Jesus, known as the ‘Touchdown Jesus’, that stood on the grouds of Solid Rock church in Monroe, Ohio, was struck by lightning last night and was reported to catch fire and was damaged due to it. The famous statue stands in front of the lake, on the church grouds, with its hands facing upwards giving if the nick name, ‘King of Kings’.
The local fire authorities stated that the statue was struck by lightining on the midnight of the 15th of June, which was followed by a huge fire, destroying the statue and the properties around it. It was estimated that the damage caused by the lightning was worth $700000.
As we all know that this very statue is the biggest statue of Jesus in the whole of America. It was built in 2004. This amazing statue is 60 feet high and weighs around 8 tons, made of wood, Styrofoam, concrete and steel.
