Boulder Fires Cause Mass Evacuation Of People


It has been reported that, the Boulder Fires has caused a mass evacuation in the region, which includes the residents of the Downtown Boulder. The fires have already gripped almost 20 acres of land, which originated a quarter mile from the Elephant Buttress, somewhere above the dome of the rock on the north of the Canyon. The authorities have given some 181 houses located on the foothills, a warning to evacuate the region.

Other areas asked to evacuate include the Canyon Boulevard on the South, North Street on the north and Seventh Street to the east. There are some 1700 people from the city who have been asked to evacuate the area, and some 800 people from the fields and businesses outside the city.

Mapleton Boulder Community and Maxwell’s campuses are also evacuated because of the fire. The City Manager Jane S. Brautigam has stated that “As a precautionary measure and help it respond with a dome of fire, we order a mandatory evacuation in some areas within the city”. The authorities have asked the people to follow their instructions, as the fire crews begin to contain the fire.
