Despite announcing the he has cancer, American singer Andy Williams has said that he would soon return to perform on stage. Williams had recently announced that he is suffering from bladder cancer and is undergoing treatment for it.
Earlier, certain reports were doing the rounds which had said that the singer was suffering from bladder cancer and this was confirmed by the 83 year old singer in a statement. Andy had also conveyed the news to his fans on Saturday in a concert in Branson, Missouri.
Williams while talking to the crowd had said that this isn’t a death sentence and that many people with cancer have dealt with it successfully. The singer assured that he would be one of the successful people to survive the cancer.
Andy had started off his career in singing with his three elder brothers. The singer later got his major break with a regular gig on the ‘Steve Allen’s Tonight show’. At the same time Andy also signed with a small recording label in New York. In the 60s the singer started his own show with ‘The Andy Williams Show’ which ran up to 1971. The reports of his sickness surfaced when he had cancelled a few performances but it wasn’t then confirmed that it was cancer.
