A Solar Powered plane from the Swiss, has made history in the books of Aviation, as it made a non stop flight which lasted for 26 hours. And if we think its solar powered so its flight was limited only till the day, but the this plane flew continuously even through the night.
The plane was piloted by the CEO of Solar Impulse HB-SIA project, Andre Borscherg, who is also the co-founder of the project. The aircraft took off from the Payerne airbase in Switzeland, on the 7th of July 2010, at 06.50 am local time. The plane made history flying 26 hours and landed at 09.00 am local time at same airbase.
The plane flew over the Jura Mountains and Lake Neuchatel, which on the west of the Swiss Alps. The plane was the first manned solar powered aircraft and it made history by flying for almost 26 hours, without conventional fuel.
