Anticipated attacks from the Al – Qaeda and some other forces have put Iraq on high alert. Nuri al-Maliki, the Prime Minister of Iraq cautioned all the security forces, who are actually at the high risk of these attacks and also the local governments. It is claimed that, the al – Qaeda along with some foreign help are planning attacks.
A television statement by al-Maliki said, “Al Qaeda and remnants of the Baath party with foreign backing are planning to carry out a series of bombings in Baghdad and the other provinces. We call on local governments and the security forces to take the maximum levels of precaution.”
The warning is also considered as the results of recent bomb attacks, mainly targeting the security forces. Considered as on one of the most violent days in Iraq, the day experienced 20 bomb attacks that killed 48 people and left 286 people injured.
