Voyager 1 Spacecraft Reaches The Edge Of Our Solar System

The Voyager 1 spacecraft was launched from Earth on 5th Sept. 1977, and today after more than three decades of travelling in space, it has finally reached the edge of our solar system. On its way it has clicked exceptional images of moons and planets which lie in our solar system, as its main mission was to provide details regarding Jupiter and other nearby planets, which it accomplished in the year 1989.

After the completion of its mission it entered deeper into space and since then it has just been travelling. The Voyager 1 spacecraft is moving at the speed of 17 km/sec. Scientists say that the spacecraft has still more years to go ahead, but it has been relatively slowed down due to the solar wind outside the Termination Shock region.

This little spacecraft will be travelling for at least another decade, as there will be enough power to source its equipments, and then it will slowly start shutting down its devices until it becomes a motionless and powerless object in space.

Plane with 22 people onboard goes missing in Nepal

A Canadian-built Twin Otter aircraft, carrying 22 people, went missing shortly after taking off on Wednesday afternoon. One of the passengers on the private plane was an American citizen.

Reports say that soon after it left the airport at Lamidana in Khatong district, the Kathmandu bound plane became untraceable, having lost contact with the control tower. The aircraft, belonging to private carrier, Tara Airlines, had 19 passengers and three crew members on board.

According to The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, two helicopters have been deployed to search for the plane that has been missing since 3.40 pm local time. The difficult terrain of the region might be a hindrance for search and rescue operations.

The crew included pilot, Anup Shakya, co-pilot, Sachendra Shrestha and air hostess, Sadiksha Gurung. Most of the passengers were pilgrims coming back after visiting an acclaimed Hindu temple.

Florida Shooting: Investigators Commence Search Into Motive Behind The Incident

It was the most grim time for the students and parents at the school in Panama City, after the Florida shooting incident. As of now the investigators have commenced to search for the motive behind the incident and why did Clay Duke, 56, start shooting at the board meeting at the school. The Police stated that Duke was failed to be confronted and then later shot himself and ended his life.

Before Duke killed himself, he had opened fired over the school board members, which resulted in a huge scare among them, but no one was hurt or injured during the incident. Investigators have also found out that Duke had been planning to undertake an attack since a long time, as the date of incident was found circled on a calender at his residence.

As he took over board room, he asked the women to leave the building, except one of the board members tried to hit him with a pocket purse, so that she could drop the gun from his hand, but she failed. The people recollected and said that it was horrific incident and they are very lucky to be alive.

Iran Mosque Blast Kills Dozens Of People

In a yet another act of violence and terrorism a Mosque Blast in Southeast Iran has killed dozens people, an Iranian lawmaker agency has confirmed the news. The blast is said to have taken place in the city of Chabahr, at the Iman Hussein Mosque, which falls near the border of Pakistan. Because of the location of the attack it seems that it is a suicide attack.

A local news agency has claimed that this is a suicide attack by the terrorists residing near the Pakistan and Iran border. Even though there have been dozens killed, dozens others were injured and have been rushed to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Iran has always been on the verge of a civil conflict, especially within the Muslim community and specifically speaking about the Shiite and Sunni Muslims. This particular attack is said to have targeted a group of religious mourners for Ashoura, as they were observing the 7th century death anniversary of the grandson of the Islamic Prophet Mohammed.

There is indeed a ray hope shining for Julian Assange, as many film industry celebrities are coming forward to grant him a bail, his release will be costing around £200,000. Assange will need to stay in custody for at least two more days, as there are many famous people who are approaching the law to set him free.

What is interesting is that he will be collecting the whole bail amount in cash, and not via PayPal, MasterCard or even Visa, as he feels that they have stood against him in these recent days. These are the few names who are willing to secure the former Australian hacker’s release, people like Jemima Khan, Sarah Saunders, Director Ken Loach, novelist Tariq Ali etc. have come up to bring Assange out of Jail.

One of the most notable person’s who has shows a full determination to see Julian free is Sarah Saunders, a close friend of his, who is ready to pay around £150,000 of the £200,000 bail amount. Others like Ken Loach and Jemima Khan are willing to paying around £20,000 each. One of the bailer’s even feel that if Assange in not released then he could eventually be sent to the US, where he would jailed for life.

Geminids Meteor Shower Lights Up The Sky On 13th December

Geminids Meteor Showers lit up the sky on the 13th December this year, and it was a sight that had to be witnessed by many. It was a carnival for many stargazers who were longing to see this heavenly event. These meteor showers occur in almost every year, and they reach the peak during the night of 13th December or the early dawn of 14th December.

During the meteor shower event, the stargazers can witness around 120-160 meteors hitting the earth’s atmosphere, making it quite spectacular. Experts state, that the best time to witness the meteor shower will be only after the moonset of 13th December and the beginning of the day of 14th December.

It has been a wonderful sight for photographers and video shooters who attempt to capture this moment in their lens. Earth is rammed by meteor showers almost throughout the year, and many people have specialized themselves in watching and capturing these phenomenal events in their own special way.

Teenager Takes Children Hostage In France, All Pupils Have Been Freed

A teenager had allegedly taken a class full small children as hostage in France has been tackled by the police, and all the pupils have been successfully freed. According to the officials present at the scene, ‘the hostage situation is officially over’, and they also added that the hostage taker is now taken into custody but they are still inside the school.

On Monday a 17 year old had entered a School in Besancon, France. He was armed with swords, and threatened everyone, in addition to that he even took a class full small kindergarten children as hostage. Specialist Police officers entered the school building this morning to tackle this young hostage taker.

It was not tough job for the police to pull out a young man like this one, but he was holding a classroom full tiny tots as hostage and under death threat. He was in contact with the world outside via a telephone. The police stated that the class had around 20 children in it, some 14 of them were released in the morning, and some five or six children along with the teacher were still inside.

The Cops were unsure about his motives, but some reports also say that he was being treated for depression and was under medication. There are also unconfirmed reports about him asking for a gun from the authorities, so that he could commit suicide.

Explosions Rock Stockholm One Dead And One Injured

It was something out of the blue for the residents in Stockholm, Sweden, as explosions rocked the freezing city northern hemisphere, which has killed one person and injured another. The officials stated that a car blew up on the road, which was quite busy street and is also a packed shopping area.

The second explosion took place within a span of minutes and a man’s body was found dead. A Swedish newspaper published an image of a burning white car, but for now the cause of these explosions is still unknown. Reports from the rescue services state, that the car which exploded had gas canisters inside it.

During the second blast, an AP reporter was just nearby and he recounted the whole incident saying that he heard many people crying because they were in shock, and then saw a man’s body lying on the street in a pool of blood. There could be some hint towards a terrorist activity, but Sweden has never been on the map of Islamic anti-socials, as of now investigations into the matter have commenced.

Blasts Takes Place Near Police Headquarters In Kandahar Afghanistan, Casualties Unknown

Afghanistan once again came under the grip of violence when a huge blast took place just near the Kandahar Police Headquarters, the number of casualties is currently unknown. The news was confirmed by the Interior Ministry of Afghanistan, as the event took place in the southern city of the Kandahar province.

An Interior Ministry spokesperson Zemarai Bashary spoke with the media, and said that the blast could most probably be a car bomb that exploded just 200 meters away from the Police Headquarters in the region. Terrorist activity is almost on a rise in Afghanistan but it was not frequent in the Kandahar region. The Taliban has been working really hard to makes its presence known in the country once again.

Officials have confirmed that the injured have been taken to the hospitals for treatment, but the number is still not known. There was thick dust and smoke rising from the streets where the explosion took place, later the police took their stand in the region. A witness recounts that the explosion was huge and it rocked the nearby neighbourhood.

Elizabeth Edwards Dies Of Breast Cancer, Leaves A Message Of Life For Everyone

Elizabeth Edwards died of breast cancer as she battled the ailment for almost six years, but as she passed away she has left a message of life to everyone around her. After her life faded away, her death has brought in attention on a nationwide scale. For many years in her life she had been preparing her family for the time when she will be no more, less she spoke quite rarely about her disease.

She advised her family in many topics and subjects in their day to day life, especially how to pick a good Church. She was an attorney for Gay marriage and was quite active in speaking against the war in Iraq. She was a beautiful person who always thought of her family and intensely cared for them.

By the end of her life, and through her last moments, she did not express much about the disease and that pain which she had been inflicted with it. She was an advocate for Hospice, and she was also named a the ‘Person of the Year 2009.’
