Italy’s Mount Etna Gives Brief Eruption, Sends Lava Down The Slopes

Italy’s Mount Etna volcano has come back to life and given brief eruption signs, as lava has started to flow down the slopes of the mountain. The eruption has sent hot ash into the sky and as a result the nearby airport has been forced to closed down. It was not a massive eruption, said the volcanology department, but the eruption has certainly sent lava flow down the slopes.

The eruption lasted for two hours, and forced nearby people to move out, but as of now there is no one reported to be injured. Mount Etna is a massive volcano, and a strong eruption can force the region to be under great threat.

As the eruption took place hot ash elevated to the sky and began to rain down, and there was temporary darkness everywhere. The Catania’s Fontanarossa airport has been shut down due to the eruption and all the domestic flights to and fro from the airport, have been diverted. The airport has reopened early on Thursday, but much details are not available. Etna last erupted in the year 1992.
