Labor Day 2010 is here and it is expected millions of Americans will be hitting the road to show their celebration and enthusiasm of Labor Day. According the American Automobile Association, they say that some 34.4 million people will be travelling some 50 miles to celebrate Labor Day, it is a direct 10% increase compared to last year.

The holidays have begun for the Labor Day weekend, which is from the 2nd of September to the 6th of September. The official figures show that 31.4 million people will be travelling in cars for Labor Day, towards their destinations and this is going to be a spectacular sight to watch.

Even though the American economy and the unemployment are on it toll, the US citizens will still be thinking of  a good spending for this weekend. People will be throwing parties, barbecues, and trips to mark this day, and it may be a good sign that will show that the US economy may be recovering, but we cannot count on that for sure.

Stephen Hawking has said in his new book, that “God Did Not Create The Universe”, this is on the basis of physics. Now the question is, whether Stephen Hawking is trying to get into some sort of religious controversy here. Hawking’s new book is scheduled to be released this month and it seems its packing in some controversy for sure.

Hawking says that the universe has been created by the Big Bang event and not by some god. He also added that this is a challenge by physics to the people’s traditional beliefs. His new book seems to also be a challenge to the religious societies around the world, that have their core beliefs in God.

In his book “Grand Designs”, he has quoted “Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing’. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist.” He means that we exists because of gravity, and the Big Bang event. But it will be very hard for Hawking to convince most of the people who are outside the science society, to believe in his theory of creation. But it is not like this, unlike Hawking, there are many famous scientists that believe in the existence of ‘God’.

In a terrifying incident in Quetta, Pakistan, a bomb blast took place in a Shia rally and has killed four people, and has left 20 injured. The local police chief stated that the bomb blast was an attack that was targeted on the Shia Rally on Friday. The Rally was taken out by the Shiite Muslims in Pakistan to observe the Al-Quds day, which is an international event, which is kept in order to oppose the Israeli control over Jerusalem.

It is not a new event, such events are taken out in almost every Israel opposing, Islamic nation. This very attack is one of the three attacks that have taken place in Pakistan on last Friday before Ramadan. The other incidents took place, one in the city of Mardan, where a suicide bomber blew himself up and killed one person, and the other was in the city of Peshawar, where a bomb explosion took out a police patrolling vehicle and injured three cops.

Pakistan has always been on the top of the terror map, and the terrorist activity in Pakistan in not going down by the numbers. There have been frequent clashes between the Shiite and Sunni Muslims in Pakistan, which has resulted to regular deaths.

Famous south Indian actor, Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth has finally tied the knot in Chennai on Thursday. Soundarya has married Ashwin Ramkumar, who is a Stanford graduate. The Wedding took place at the Rani Meyyammani Hall in Chennai.

Guests who attended the wedding included host of famous politicians and people from the Indian film Industry. One of the known people from the Indian movie Industry present at the wedding was Bonney Kapoor and his wife Sridevi. Women at the wedding were dressed in tradition Indian silk attire and it was a spectacular sight. The wedding too was done in proper Brahmin tradition, with wedding verses read from the Vedas.

Mr. Rajinikanth was wearing a white shirt and a dhoti, as he is always, simple in his looks. The wedding was a morning event and people had packed the hall from 07.00 am onwards. Rajinikanth and his wife were personally receiving the guests at the wedding. People were happy during the occasion and blessed the couple the best of luck in their life.

Hurricane Earl storm system has weakened for the moment, but it successfully reached and hit the Outer Banks. It has now created a tropical storm condition in Outer Banks North Carolina, as the winds speeds at the core have reached 105 mph. Overall the storm system of Earl has weakened but the winds are still powerful to sustain.

According to the weather reports, Earl’s eye is 85 miles east southeast to Cape Hatteras, and is going to stay out into the sea. Wind speeds hitting the Outer Bank are at 58 mph, and after day break authorities will be able to see the damage done by Earl.

There has been a little flooding on the coasts of some counties and there was also a small storm surge witnessed at the coast. There has been some damage to the highways as sand has reached the tar, but the situation in ok for the moment. Earl will be moving out into the Atlantic soon enough.

A new oil rig explosion has taken place in the Gulf Of Mexico, and now everyones fear has come true, a mile long oil spill is now visible in the sea. The oil rig is situated of the coast of Louisiana and the explosion took place on the morning of Thursday.

The BP oil spill recently got over and it had proved to be one of the worst oil spill nightmares in the Gulf of Mexico, which went on for more than four months. And one spill was just over, now a new spill is seen over the horizon.

According to a US Coast Guard Officer, Petty Coklough, he said that they have seen a mile long oil spill sheen in the sea from the oil rig which belonged to a Houston based oil company Mariner Energy Inc. The company has confirmed from its side that there is an oil spill in the sea. Authorities have sent three fire fighting vessels to the site of the explosion, and as per the reports the fire has been contained but not extinguished.

India will be celebrating teachers day on the 5th of September. A very auspicious and a respectful day for the teachers in India. 5th September is considered Teachers Day, as UNESCO has recognized this day as Teachers Day, but many countries celebrate this day according to their own traditional dates. But in India it is celebrated on the 5th of September as it is also the birthday of India’s second President, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

Teachers Day is celebrated all over in India and especially in the schools. Students in the school have events to celebrate this day in the honor and respect of their teachers. This is a day when all the citizens of India remember their respective teachers and respect them in their own special way.

Each educated person was a student in his young age and this is a day that one should not forget as it is a day that provides respect and adorance to their respective teachers as they are the one that have provided us with knowledge and etiquette’s to survive in this world.

James Lee is dead, as the Police have said that he was the person who had created the Discovery Channel Hostage crisis. He was shot dead by the police on Wednesday. According to the police, it is said that he had a hand gun and taken some hostages under him. The reason he did all this is very shocking.

He has a strong inspiration from the infamous “Unabomber”, Theodore Kaczynski, who had done mail bombings and killed 3 people, currently serving a life sentence. Lee had a mindset same as to Kaczynski, he believed that human population growth and industrial development is a serious threat to the earth, and was very serious about it.

After hours of failed negotiations, Lee was shot by a sniper and some three hostages were released from him. Lee was dead against Discovery Channel and his against the Channel is old. He had protested outside the channel’s office many times and had been fined for this. Lee said on a web site that Discovery Channel is a big culprit, instead of showing solutions to solve the global warming crisis and population problems, they are airing destructive programs which give them good profit.

He wanted to make a point here, but could have done it in an other way. Sadly for Lee an environmental enthusiast, he is no more and now cannot contribute his efforts to save this planet earth.

There is a hostage crisis in the Discovery Channel building (headquarters) today, as an armed man took one person under his hostage and there is a fear that he may be having a bomb. The incident has taken place at the Silver Spring Discovery Channel headquarters and the Maryland police have arrived at the spot.

The officer from the Montgomery Police Department stated that the armed man has taken one hostage under him and is also having an explosive device with him. The man may be hiding with the hostage in the lobby of the Discovery Channel building and has a hand gun with him.

The police stated that the man had fired at least one shot, but employees from the Discovery Channel said that have heard at least five to six gun shots. The state police officials are saying that they are trying to communicate with the man and most possibly negotiate with him. It is said that he has some sort of explosive device with him.

Hurricane Earl is still showing signs of danger on the coasts of the United States, and now authorities of North Carolina have forced people from the Ocracoke Island to evacuate. Ocracoke Island is an offshore island in the state of North Carolina and can be accessed only by a ferry. The access for the people from the island has become a great worry.

The authorities have forces evacuation from the island and will pull some 5000 people out of there. The evacuation can be done only by ferry and the evacuation process needs to be done fast, as if the Hurricane Earl comes to close then the evacuation from the island will become impossible.

Hurricane Earl has become a category 3 hurricane but chances cannot be taken, and there is continues monitoring done over Earls storm system to watch its development. The hurricane is moving northwest at the speed of 16 mph.
