In the 2nd ODI being played between India and New Zealand in Jaipur, Gautam Gambhir India’s captain has chosen to bowl first, and now here we ask whether Vettori’s team will be performing well today. Frank Gore, running back for San Francisco 49ers has suffered a hip injury and it has abruptly ended the rest of the season for him this year. The 49ers on the other hand were having a very unsatisfactory record of 4-7, but then a win of 27-6 against the Cardinals recently has put them only a game out of the first place.

But the whole bad news is that they will need to continue their season without Frank and he is indeed is the cornerstone for the team. According to a spokesperson, Gore will be out of the season and will need complete rest after he suffered the hip injury on Monday during a game.

During Monday’s game, Frank was running really hard on the field as a result he had to walk back into his dressing room during the first half itself, but then later came back fully dressed and geared up to rejoin the game, still once again he was uncomfortable on the field and he returned and this time he did not go back into the game.

The New Orleans Saints defensive end player, Will Smith has been arrested under the charges of domestic abuse. The Lafayette police have arrested him, as it has been reported that he violently abused his wife. According to the police he had pulled her hair and dragged her down the street, which commits him under battery charge.

Lafayette police state that the football player and his wife got into a huge quarrel and argument after they left a nightclub at around 02.00 am Saturday early morning. A patrol police witnessed that the quarrel was getting violent and that Smith started pulling his wife’s hair and dragged her down the same street, this is when the patrol cops had to step in.

Greg Bensil, Saints media director has stated that he is now well aware of the charges that have been kept on Will Smith, he would be having his team’s security staff look into this matter. It is a shocking incident, as Will is such an excellent player on field, and a very rude man in his personal life, his image has now been smeared with shame.

Indian athlete Tintu Luka, bagged a bronze medal in the track and field segment of women’s 800 meters race at the 2010 Asian games in China. While Sinimole Paulose ended the race at the seventh position.

Tintu had a good start and was maintaining her speed but at the end of the race her speed reduced and managed to grab the 3rd spot. She completed her race in a record time of 2:01.36, while Sinimole completed in 2:06.95.

The golden and the silver spot was well deserved by Margarita Matsko from Kazhakastan and Truong Thanh from China with a record time of 2:00.29 and 2:00.91 respectively.

The Common Wealth Games could not see much of Tintu’s good performances, which was apparently the reason Tintu performed her best at the Asian Games.

In Hockey, India defeated South Korea in the men’s segment, where they could just earn a Bronze as they could not make it to the further levels.

The Australia vs England Ashes Series 2010-11 has officially begun in Brisbane, and the hosts have finally managed to pack up England for just 260 runs. Now the Aussies are ready to give the visitors a tough fight and tend to cross the 260 runs as soon as possible. Prior to the beginning of Ashes, the Australians had made it clear that this series would be all about revenge and it looks that they are doing what they have thought about.

Christy Martin, female boxing champion and legend has been stabbed and shot, and then later hospitalized after the horrific incident. The police has stated that the she is slowly recovering after being shot, and they suspect that her husband could be behind this attack. Its a very sad incident that has taken place with her and she herself did expect such a thing.

She has won Championships in her career and is said to be a undercard for the legendary Mike Tyson, today she has retired from the sport. It was when she was found stumbling and some how just managed to get out of her home, a passing motorist felt that he needed to help her.

Even though she was shot and then stabbed, she was able to build up the strength to utter the words of the attacker and tell the police, she said that it was none other than her husband James Martin. James Martin, 44, used to be her trainer too, and now the police have started a hunt to arrest Martin for his crime.

The Miz has become the WWE Champion on Monday night RAW this week, after he cleverly cashed in his money in the bank brief case and defeated Randy Orton. It was just after the match between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett of the Nexus, who during the match injured the knee of Orton, but some how he did manage to retain his championship.

Taking his limp as an opportunity, The Miz stepped in the ring and beat Orton and eventually became the WWE Champion. The fans at Orlando were completely struck in shock as they witnessed the Miz win the championship, in a way he smartly stole it from the viper.

The Miz has been in the WWE since a long time now, but has never been appreciated from his efforts, and in addition to this he has always tried to come up and prove it in his own way and sadly this was not at all liked by the WWE fans. What we need to see here is that, how long will the Miz hold to the title and keep it to himself, for the viper will return with vengeance and he will need to face him.

The India vs New Zealand test match at Nagpur is officially over and India have won the game by a huge margin, and eventually clinching the series. New Zealand has lost the game by an innings, after India provided them with more than 350 runs on the board in first innings.  The ball had been spinning and turning the way it is supposed to on a subcontinent pitch.

India in their first innings totaled 566 runs on the board and New Zealand had to stand firm against the Indian bowling attack if they wanted to win this game, but sadly this did not happen. The Indian spin attack once again proved to be lethal, and this time they preyed on the New Zealand batting lineup, which collapsed consistently.

Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh were the bowling highlight of the day, as each of them plucked three wickets for themselves. New Zealand commenced the day with 24/1, but in the first session itself it was clear enough to see that the kiwi’s began to wobble.  India has successfully clinched the series 1-0 and once again proved that they are at their best when it comes to be playing in the subcontinent.

Coach Brad Childress has been officially fired by the Minnesota Vikings team. It is a really bad phase that the team and former coach were undergoing as the performance level of the Vikings was hampered and the team had to really think about a secure future. They had a vision of a Super Bowl berth in the year 2009 and thanks to Brett Favre, he gave his best during that year, and the Vikings were 12-4.

He was quite a successful coach for the team, but since some time now things were just not going the right way for Brad. Vikings consistently lost three out of their four games, and then the team was in a head on battle with the Randy Moss issue. Later in just a matter of few weeks, Childress took the step of releasing Moss of his job without even getting the consultation of the team owner Zygi Wilf.

After reviewing a list of these incidents, they all were pointing out to Brad, and now his job was on the rocks. The firing of Childress came just after the team lost pathetically against the Green Bay Packers, who bundled them 31-3.

Ellis Hobbs of the Philadelphia Eagles will be missing at least one game this season because of the neck injury that he has sustained during a game against the Giants. Ellis was involved in an on field clash with Dave Tollefson of the New York Giants, as both of them banged each other head on.

After the clash, Ellis remained on the ground lying motionless for almost 15 minutes, after which he was carted off by the field paramedics. Eagles coach Andy Reid stated that Ellis underwent an MRI on Monday morning, and it showed that he had sustained a disk damage, but it wasn’t too serious or something to be worried about, he will be missing at least one game this season.

It was thought that after he rammed into Tollefson, he might have sustained something very serious and that his career could have been in jeopardy. As he lay on the ground he was trying his best to get up but he could not, the medics on field stated. He was fighting against all odds every moment and was trying to be well and OK and this is the reason that he is standing on his feet today, and he will be playing for his team very soon.
