Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is on a historical visit to Jericho, and has said that he will undertake peace talks with the Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas. The region which is said to have been sitting on a stockpile of TNT explodes frequently, and this results to violent clashes with the Israelites and their forces.

The Russian leader had flown down to Amman from where his cavalry drove him across border into Palestine, and arrived to the town of Jericho where he is set to commence peace talks with Abbas. He was on his way to Israel too, but after a strike with the employees at the Israel foreign Ministry, he had to cancel it.
It is said that Medvedev will fund a Museum in Jericho where Palestine’s antiquities will be placed. He is also accompanied with hundreds of Businessmen from Russia but they are currently back in Jordan. But business apart, his main motive to come to Palestine is to commence the peace talks between Israel and Palestine, and stall the region which has been erupting with violence since years.

China’s President Hu Jintao is scheduled to commence the US state visit tour very soon, and it is remarkable that he is the first Chinese leader in almost 13 years to visit American soil for the first time. It is expected that both leaders are going to talk about strong business deals, which will benefit both nations respectively.

Mr. Jintao has first planned to have a dinner at Washington DC, and they he will leave for Chicago on a two day trip. But there is news which is quite discouraging for both countries, as the US Senators had pressed the congress to penalise China for manipulating it currency. For the country is not allowing the Yuan to rise and as a result the cost of American products in China is quite expensive.
The President of China on the other hand has said, the Yuan has not been under valued and there is a floating exchange rate regime which allows the currency to fluctuate on the basis of international balance of payments and reserves. He is also likely to buy products from America for manufacturing of cars, planes and other industrial assets.

India lost to South Africa in the first ODI of the series, but the question now rises, whether India will make a come bank into the game. The 2nd ODI is scheduled to begin on the 15th January, but is it going to be India this time who would prove to be winners. No hard feeling for India during the Durban match, for it was the uneven bounce which the pitch produced and caused the Indians to be manhandled.

As most of the batsmen available in the squad dont have the experience to face bounce, but there is Sachin Tendulkar who can do it. Virat Kohli on the other hand has heated up for the game but can he handle the heat from the bouncy wicket at the Wanderers.
Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir are absent from the team so will India have the mettle to bring in Yusuf Pathan and Rohit Sharma to open up their innings. Well these are the question that have not been answered, but yes we have to witness the game on 15th January to see if India can with stand the South African attack.

Latest reports of Gabrielle Giffords healths shows positive signs, family sources claim that her breathing tube will be removed very soon. The US Congresswoman was shot in the head and survived during the Arizona shooting, which in itself is a miracle. The doctors feel that there may be some damage done by the bullet which hit her brain, it will be known only when she comes back to her full conciousness.

Surgeons have said that very few people have managed to survive a head shot bullet wound, exactly less than 10%. The attack which took place in Tucson, killed almost six people and left fourteen injured, which included a nine year old girl.
The incident has been widely condemned around the US and President Obama himself has said this is an insane act. The doctors have said that
Giffords has a full chance of survival, and she will be well very soon. She has started showing signs of recognition, but the percentage of accuracy is very low.

The US Defence Secretary, Robert Gates is currently on his Asian tour, and the first leg of this tour brings him to China, where he recently took a trip to one of the country’s nuclear warfare headquarters. He is into the final day of his four day visit to China, and the Defence Secretary is looking ahead to positive talks over Nuclear Strategy.

As his tour comes to an end, officials from both countries were quite satisfied over the fact that the entire visit has turned out to be a success. Beijing a couple of years back had discontinued its military relations with the US, for they had sold weapons to Taiwan.
Gates was also fortunate to take a visit to one of China’s nuclear warfare headquarters belonging to the Second Artillery Corps of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). It is also known that both countries have nuclear weapons and missiles to reach each other’s soil, but they have agreed that they will not be using them.

Famed US attorney, Elizabeth Edwards who passed away fighting cancer, has not mentioned anything about her Husband in her will. John Edwards, former Senate, is unfortunately not mentioned in the layout of her will, as it speaks only about her three children. Edwards leaves the estate and some other assets to her 28 year old daughter Cate Edwards and also the other two children, Emma Claire and Jack.

A statement from the will reads – “All of my furniture, furnishings, household goods, jewelry, china, silverware and personal effects and any automobiles owned by me at the time of my death I give and bequeath to my children,” Here the above statement precisely points out that the children are the only legal heirs of her property.
Elizabeth was supporting her husband throughout the Presidential nominations, and then even after the love for her husband it was revealed that he had an indecent life outside his family. This finally split after 32 years in 2010, later she sadly passed away fighting cancer on the 7th December 2010.

Salman Taseer, Governor of Punjab, Pakistan has been killed and it is reported by the Police that he was shot by one of his own guards. The assassination of Salman Taseer is one of the most high profile killings in the country since the death of Benazir Bhutto. When the Guard had been questioned by the police, it is known that he did the crime because of the Governor’s views towards the country’s blasphemous laws.

The killing has now raised questions in accordance to the presence of Islamic Extremists in the security system of Pakistan. Mr. Taseer was a part of Bhutto’s People’s Party, and had close associations with Asif Ali Zardari.
He was well known in Pakistan because of his stern behaviour in politics and he also had a strong view of sending messages across to people. He was even known to use twitter to provide messages to people, and always stood against the country’s blasphemous Islamic laws.

After observing everything the young Congressman decided to look into this issue at the earliest. It was really sad to see the condition in which the students lived in.

Rahul is in the state of Tamil Nadu for a two day visit, as the state elections will be commencing soon next year.

After the recent Minsk protest, Moscow has blamed the Belarusian anti-riots police because of their indecent way of treating their reporters. The officials state that the police should have at least differentiated between the personnel who had cameras and were reporting from the scene and people who were like hooligans on the the streets.

The Russian embassy in Minsk was really upset over the fact that the Russia reporters were treated in an inhuman manner, and so they have reacted against it strongly. On Sunday many Belarusian people had took the streets to protest against the return of the Presidential elections, and steadily the situation worsened at which the police stepped in.
As the Belarusian police started to disperse the protesters, amidst them were Russian journalists, but the police charged on them too. The people became very violent against the elections and tried to storm the government building, so eventually the police had to use brutal force against them. It has been said that some 100-500 people have been detained along with 7-9 persons who were in the race for the presidential elections.
