Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean celebrated his 32nd birthday this weekend and what a better day to get engaged than on his birthday.

The singer proposed to his girlfriend Rochelle Deanna Karidis at Vegas on stage at Wasted Space at the Hard Rock Hotel.

According to a source: “He got up on stage and the DJ turned the music off. He asked her to come up on stage and he got down on his knee and she squatted down with him,” source told People magazine. “He asked her and she said yes and hugged him. He took the ring out of his pocket and put it on her hand.”

AJ McLean apparently bought the ring just a few hours before he asked Rochelle to marry him.

Comedian Russell Brand is said to have given his girl friend Katy Perry an engagement ring just in India’s Pink City – Jaipur, Rajasthan.

According to a source, Russell and the “I Kissed a Girl” went to the Taj Mahal in Jaipur, India where they spent their new year’s eve and got engaged on their romantic trip.

A source said: “They wanted to take part in a traditional ceremony and thought there was no better time than on New Year’s Eve. The ceremony is usually used to bless new couples in the hope it might lead them toward marriage”.

The couple have been in a relationship since September after they apparently meeting at the MTV Video Music Awards. Katy Perry made her romance with Russell public at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November last year.

“Crazy in Love” singer Beyonce and her husband rapper Jay -Z will be adding each others last names to their surnames. The couple got married in 2008 and are all set to add the others suraname to their last name.

Jay-Z – whose real name is Shawn Carter – will be known as Shawn Knowles-Carter and Beyonce will be Beyonce Knowles-Carter.

According to a report in the Daily Star newspaper, a source said: “They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves.”

Sources say that there will be a rehearsal dinner on Friday before the Saturday wedding.

Singer and Actress Courtney Love has reportedly lost control over her 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Her daughter with the late Kurt Cobain will no longer be under the legal guardianship of Courtney Love.

Reports say that Frances’ new guardians are her late husband Kurt Cobain’s mother and sister, Wendy O’Connor and Kimberly Dawn Cobain.

Since her daughter Frances has inherited a large amount of her Kurt’s estate, her new guardians will now look after her finances , but they won’t have any power over her trust.

Courtney Love is a singer and actress and was part of the music group called Hole. She was married to late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and Frances is their only child.

Desperate Housewives Actress Eva Longoria has revealed that the thought of being an actress never crossed her mind back in college. She says it must be because of God’ blessings that she became an actress.

In an interview, the actress said: “Literally one day I said, ‘I’m going to be an actress.’ I never put a thought to it. I never said, ‘When I graduate from college, I want to be an actress.’ That thought never occurred to me. I have a strong faith in God and at that time I felt this amazing guidance coming from above and that gave me strength. It was this special force pushing me to come to Los Angeles and I said, ‘OK, I’m not going to fight it.’ But I always felt very protected. And I felt like this was the place I was meant to be.”

What Eva also revealed was that the only way she made it through college was by taking part in beauty pageants.
