Lots of people will miss Mr. Grizzard so why not remember it as we should?

J-Lo Wins Arbitration Suit

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

sexy-j-lo-jennifer-lopez.jpgJennifer Lopez has won approximately $545,000 from her ex-husband in a lawsuit arbitration.

Lopez’s first husband, Ojani Noa, had planned to publish a ghostwritten book detailing intimacies that occurred during their 11 month marriage. Details of the book were released in January 2006 in a New York Post article. Publishing of the book would violate the terms of a nondisclosure, “non-disparagement” agreement that Lopez and Noa had agreed to in a previous legal settlement.

The book was supposedly filled with juicy tales including that Lopez had multiple affairs including one with her current husband, Marc Anthony. Anthony was also married at the time.

Lopez was awarded $200,000 for breach of contract damages, $300,000 in lawyer’s fees and $48,000 in arbitration costs. Jennifer was also awarded a permanent injunction barring any ”criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging or causing disparagement” from Noa.

Marc Anthony and J-Lo are currently starring together in the film, “El Cantante” about salsa legend Hector Lavoe.

Chris Rock Not the “Baby Daddy”

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Chris Rock and FamilyChris Rock’s lawyer announced Monday that the results of a paternity test proved Chris Rock is not the father of a 13-year-old boy.

Earlier this year, Kali Bowyer, of Savannah, G.A., tried to file a paternity suit against the comedian seeking child support and medical coverage for the child but was require to withdraw her petition because Rock lived outside Georgia’s jurisdiction. Rock, however, ask the Georgia court to proceed with paternity testing to resolve the issue. A judge order DNA testing on both Rock and the child at the beginning of June.  The results of that test came back negative for a DNA link between the two.

Rock and his wife, Malaak, stated that they were happy to finally be able to put the accusation to rest and also expressed concern for the well-being of the child.

Rock and Malaak have been married 10 years and have two daughters. Lola and Zahra.

Rock currently works on “Everyone Hates Chris” as creator and narrator of the series and is due to star in “the Bee Movie”, “The Gilmores of Beverly Hills” and “Madagascar 2.”

Jessica Simpson: Porn Star? No Way!

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Jessica Simpson: Porn Star? No Way!Lately there’s been a few rumours swirling about Jessica Simpson. Porn, strait to dvd and endorsements are but few.

The porn rumour was semi-confirmed when her father and manager, Joe, stated that Jessica has been offered a role but that they had turned it down. “We were promised we would win an Oscar with that,” Joe told People. “I was like: ‘We’ll just buy a statue of a little man and keep our clothes on.’” Ends up the role was to PLAY a porn star, not act in a porn movie.

Next rumour up is that her latest film, “Blonde Ambition”, will go straight to dvd without a theatrical release. The reason? Seems some anon source stated that Jessica’s acting was ‘horrible.’ This rumour started floating not long after an official trailer for the film was leaked to the internet in May. A representative for Simpson completely denied that the movie would not be released in theatres.

Lastly is her rumoured celebrity endorsement of TrimWater. Seems she took an equity deal in exchange for the endorsement. Guess she’s pinning her hopes on a repeat of the $400 million VitaminWater deal with Coca-Cola.

Harry Potter’s Girls

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Harry Potter has been surrounded by strong female companions throughout the books and films. The girls that play those characters are strong and interesting in and of themselves. Let’s take a look at who they are:

Hermione - Emma Watson - Harry PotterEmma Watson, who plays one of Harry Potter’s best pals Hermione Granger, is a rising starlet. With no prior acting experience, other than school plays, she was cast in one of the 3 main roles in the Harry Potter series at the tender age of 11. Born in Paris, France, Emma and her family moved to Oxford, England when she was 5. An avid sports fan, her music interests range from Eric Clapton to Eminem and U2. She also brags about being a Shrek fanatic.

In July of 2007, Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, her fellow Harry Potter castmates, cast their hand, foot and wand imprints outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Watson is estimated to have amassed a $20.3 million fortune from her role as Hermione and is contracted to finish out her role in the last 2 movies.

Bonnie Wright - Ginny Weasley - Harry PotterBonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley was born in London , England. The 16 year-old actress also had no prior acting experience outside school. Her role of Ginny was only a small one in the first Potter movie, Harry and the Philosopher’s Stone but became a focus in the 2nd one, Harry and The Chamber of Secrets, when a powerful diary begins to seize her soul and consciousness. Again in the 3rd movie, she had a minor role, with only 1 line of dialogue but in the following 2 movies her part has expanded significantly. Ginny is written as a smart, patient young girl with a crush on Harry who is willing to wait for him to grow up and “see” her.

Evanna Lynch - Luna Loveg - Harry PotterEvanna Lynch, who plays Luna Lovegood, was born in Termonfeckin, Ireland. It is rumored that as a younger child she constantly wrote J.K. Rowlling and once bemoaned how she would love to have a part in a Harry Potter film but that nothing happened where she lived. Rowling is said to have written back and said, “Don’t be too hard on Termonfeckin; it does have a brilliant name! And I come from a very sleepy place”. It was announced that Lynch beat out nearly 15,000 other girls for the role of Luna in an open casting call that her father had taken her to in London.

The character of Luna is the anti-Hermione. Where Hermione needs facts to form her beliefs, Luna goes on faith. She’s odd, appears flighty and thus somewhat of an outcast at Hogwart’s. She is however, very intelligent and extremely loyal. She becomes another of Harry’s good and trusted friends.

Katie Leung - Cho Chang - Harry PotterKatie Leung, a native of Scotland, plays Cho Chang. Cho has the honour of being the first girl that Harry crushes on and that he kisses. She also has the dishonour of being the one that betrays Dumbeldore’s Army, though under magical influence it is later found out. In the books, however, it is not Cho but her friend Marietta that is the betrayer. Leung doubts that she will be back for any future films as her role is severely diminished in the books and so much of those books needs to be cut out for films.

All in all Harry Potter is surrounded by some amazing girls in his battle against evil. More importantly, Daniel Radcliffe is surrounded and supported by a young female ensemble that is second to none.

Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel is currently starring in the movie “I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry” with Kevin James and Adam Sandler. In recent interview, Biel was quoted as saying that she preferred “funny, sexy men” as opposed to “sexy, sexy men”. Funny is key—funny, silly, someone who doesn’t take themselves seriously, someone who can be ridiculous. That’s the most attractive thing” Biel recently told Parade.com.

Biel, known for her stunning beauty, as well as her acting, was ranked #5 by AskMen.com readers in the list “Top 99 Women 2007″ and ranked as #5 on Maxim’s Hot 100 for 2007. Currently, she is reported to be dating Justin Timberlake.

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell Married

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell MarriedRebecca Romijn, 34, and Jerry O’Connell, 33, married in a ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday, said Romijn’s representative, Lewis Kay.

Romijn, who currently stars in ABC’s “Ugly Betty”, and O’Connell, of “Crossing Jordan” fame tied the knot in Ojai, CA. Isn’t she a beauty? The couple met in 2004 when Romjin was shooting for Wet Dreams, and later in 2005 Jerry proposed to her when the couple was in New York.

This is the first marriage for O’Conell. Romijn was previously married to actor, John Stamos for 6 years. I wonder how long this one will last or if she has a second agenda!

SpiderMan 3

Monday, July 16th, 2007

SpiderMan 3 opened internationally and brought in $29.5M in the 16 overseas markets beating out the openings of the previous two films in the franchise. The film opens domestically on Friday and looks to be the blockbuster opening to beat this summer.

The 2 previous films, SpiderMan and SpiderMan 1 had a combined earnings total of $1.6 billion worldwide.

The hype is big with many movie houses having midnight showings that are already sold out. The film, which reunites Tobey McGuire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco, also introduces two new villains: Topher Grace as Venom and Thomas Hayden Church as Sandman.

The story line is simple, Good vs. Evil, only this time Peter Parker, SpiderMan, not only has to battle the bad guys, he also has to battle himself. After his suit changes to black, Peter finds himself changing as well, and not for the better. The change brings out his dark, vengeful side and Peter becomes arrogant and overconfident and starts neglecting the people that care for him and eventually he is forced to choose between the increased super powers of the suit and being the compassionate super hero he once was.
