2010 Academy Award Winners: Hurt Locker the Biggest Winner

The 82nd Academy Awards took place last night at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and was hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

Thee Hurt Locker was the big winner for the night and Kathryn Bigelow was the first woman to win the prestigious Best Director award.

Sandra Bullock Wins A Razzie and an Oscar Award for Her Performances

Sandra Bullock may have won the Oscars in the Best Actress category, but this lady also happened to win a Razzie for Worst Female Performance for her role in All About Steve just the previous day!

However, the “Miss Congeniality” star was as sporting as ever and said: “Something tells me you all didn’t really watch the film because I wouldn’t be here if you really, really watched it and understood what I was trying to say.”

Interestingly, she also won a Razzie for the Worst Screen Couple along with Bradley Cooper for “All About Steve”.

However, she made up for these negative awards by taking home the much sought after “Best Actress” Oscar at the 2010 Oscar Awards.

Filmfare Awards 2009 Winners, 3 Idiots a Big Winner

The 55th Filmfare Awards 2009 took place on 28th February 2010 at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai India.

The Filmfare Awards is one of the biggest awards for the Indian film industry. and is considered to be the Academy Awards of India. Actors Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were the hosts for the event.

Robert Pattison Admits that He’s Dating Kristen Stewart?

Twilight star Robert Pattinson’s rumored romance with Kristen Stewart has been leading to a lot of speculation over the past few months and now Pattinson has led to some more speculation after the BAFTA Awards after-party Sunday night.

Robert Pattison is known to have told reporters : “It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes. We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans, it goes crazy. This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy. We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention.”

But that still does not confirm whether the two are in a relationship or just co-stars. This statement was enough to get gossip columns talking and giving their opinions.

The Twilight actors reportedly who arrived at the BAFTA awards separately after the awards show was allegedly getting cozy with Kristen.

Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight saga, is expected to release in July this year.

Hannah Montana Star Miley Cyrus to Join Twilight Actors as Presenters at the Oscars

Miley Cyrus, famous for her role as Hannah Montana, will be a presenter along with Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the 2010 Academy Awards ceremony on March 7, 2010.

According to reports, the other presenters for the 2010 Academy Awards ceremony are Kate Winslet, Sean Penn and Penelope Cruz.

Penelope Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress award for Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2009,and te Spanish actress has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the movie Nine.

The Academy Awards is all set to take place at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and the hosts for the event are ‘30 Rock’ star Alec Baldwin and “The Pink Panther” actor Steve Martin.

The Hurt Locker Beats Avatar to Win 6 BAFTA Awards

The BAFTA Awards took place yesterday in London and it had a surprise winner. Not Avatar, but instead it was “The Hurt Locker” that swept the awards.

The Hurt Locker, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, edged out rival James Cameron’s film Avatar to win the Best Film BAFTA Awards 2010.

The Hurt Locker won a total of six awards including Best film, Best director, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Original screenplay, Best Cinematography.

Avatar won awards for Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects.

Telugu Movie Leader Starring Daggubati Rana Releases Today

Leader is a Telugu movie directed by Sekhar Kammula and produced by AVM Productions.

The main stars of the film are Rana Daggubati, Richa Gangopadhyay and Priya Anand and the main reason why this Telugu film is so hyped up is because Rana happens to be the grandson of D Rama Naidu and son of D Suresh Babu. This is also his first film as an actor.

The movie “Leader” was premiered in India on 19th Feb 2010..

Leader is about the wide disparity that exists between an ordinary politician and a ‘Leader’. Even though there are no physical fights in this film (like most Telugu movies), there is a lot of drama involved.

Actress Megan Fox maybe one of Hollywood’s biggest actresses but the star insists that she actually has strong motherly instincts.

The Transformers beauty told a magazine said: “No one believes me when I talk about this, but I’m really maternal. I worry that because I’ve always wanted kids so much, as the world goes sometimes, I won’t be able to have them — even though I would be able to provide them with such an amazing environment.”

To everyone surprise, the 23 year old actress apparently admitted that she doesn’t believe too much in her acting abilities and even hates her picture to be taken! Given the fact that she is one of the biggest bombshells in Hollywood, this is hard to believe!

Kate Winslet to act in the remake of “Mildred Pierce”

Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet has reportedly signed on to be the star of the HBO mini-series version of Mildred Pierce.

The Mildred Pierce story is about a single mother who works a a waitress so that she can provide for her two daughters during the Depression. Mildred becomes very fond of her eldest girl once her younger child passes away, but the older girl seems very unappreciative of all the work that she does and eventually shoots her stepdad.

Mildred Pierce is a 1945 movie that won actress Joan Crawford an Academy Award. This role also happens to be Kate Winslet’s first five-hour TV special ever since her role in the The Reader last year.

Kate Winslet is one of Hollywood’s biggest actresses and is well known for her award winning role of ‘Rose’ in the blockbuster movie Titanic.
