Rima Fakih wins the 2010 Miss USA title. The 24 year old Miss Michigan beat around 52 more women to clinch the title on Sunday Night at the Planet Hollywood Resort.

Rima Fakih is a Arab American from Dearborn. Her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths.

Her family moved to the United States when she was just a baby. Rima Fakih was raised in New York City. She also attended a catholic school and in the year 2003 the whole family moved to Michigan.

When she was asked in her interview, if birth control should be paid by medical insurance she answered,

‘I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it’s a controlled substance’.

She is the first Miss Michigan since Kenya Moore in 1993 to be Miss USA.

Katherine Heigl was in Las Vegas the other night to accept her ShoWest Female Star of the Year award when all of a sudden, the strap of her red dress broke and almost revealed her assets to the audience.

The red dress, a Donna Karan dress, snapped and host Billy Bush was kind enough to help her hold it up just in time. According to Us magazine, her rep said: “She appreciated Billy’s ’support.”

Once off stage, someone gave Katherine a safety pin to hold up the broken strap so that she could go ahead and not hold on to it the whole night.

This is not the first time that wardrobe malfunctions have taken place, since the most famous ones in the past were Janet Jackson’s and Tara Reid’s.

Fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead at his home in London on Thursday morning.

A statement released by McQueen’s office said:”On behalf of Lee [Alexander] McQueen’s family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee’s family,” said a statement released by McQueen’s office.

According to reports, the 40 year old designer allegedly committed suicide due to the heartbreak of losing his mother on Feb 2.

He was also scheduled to to show his fashion line McQ, w at next weeks New York Fashion Week.

It was a magical night at the Staples the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas last night as a new Miss America was crowned. The Winner was Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron.

The Miss America Contest 2010 winner Miss Virginia, Caressa Cameron also won a $50,000 scholarship and beat 52 other contestants from across the USA to get the title.

The new Miss America Caressa Cameron is a 22 year old girl from Fredericksburg, Va and also sang a song from the “Dreamgirls” movie that impressed everyone.

The first runner up position went to Miss California, Kristy Cavinder, who won $ 25,000.

The judges for the event were Rush Limbaugh, Katie Harman, Hollywood actress Vivica A. Fox, Shawn Johnson, Dave Koz, Brooke White and actor Paul Rodriguez.

The Spider-Man actor got introduced to British supermodel Agyness Deyn somewhere last month at a New York Cinema Society and the two hit off very fast and reportedly flirted the whole night and not forgetting the exchanging of phone numbers.

A source told a magazine: “Agyness and James have met since and are very keen on each other. There is a real connection.”

Agyness is known to have dated rock stars but it looks like she now has an interest in one of Hollywood’s hotties.

OK! magazine reports that the cause of the two moving out was because of their alleged infidelities.

A source said: “You have to consider that these girls are only 20 years old,and the twins were there for the ride. They just care about themselves.”

Kristina and Karissa Shannon will now be only friends and not girlfriends to Hugh Hefner. However, his relationship with his other girlfriend Crystal Harris has got a lot more serious.
