Mohandas Pai resigns from Infosys board

In some surprise for the IT industry, Mohandas Pai from Infosys has resigned from his post. Pai was the member of the board and the director in charge of the Human Resource Development of the company.

The news came along with the Q4 results, with some disappointing profit and revenue according to the analysts. The resignation of Mohandas came as a surprise and shock and was the biggest resignation after Nandan Nilkeni had left the company.

Pai has resigned from his post, which will be effective from 11th June 2011, after the Annual general meeting of the company takes place. Mohandas’s decision to quit the company is being discussed every where in the industry, but till now no reasons have been disclosed for the resignation.

Pai had joined Infosys in the year 1994 and was the Chief financial officer till 2006. From 2000, he became the member of the board. Further leadership plans will be discussed by the company later this month. Chairman Narayan Murthy is due to retire in August this year. Narayan Murthy said that it will be difficult to imagine Infosys without the presence of Pai. Murthy also expressed his gratitude towards Pai for his passion and commitment towards the company.

Google blames China for hacking Gmail?

Search engine giant, Google, has recently put some serious allegations on the Chinese government for interfering with Gmail, the online email service of Google. Many users had complained difficulty in accessing their accounts.

Some of the foreign journalists had reported that their accounts have been hacked. The complains came after many Gmail users, over the past few weeks, in China, were facing problems in accessing their mailbox.

It has been predicted that some activists have been trying to control the internet. The Google authorities have said that their engineers could not find any fault or any technical problem with Gmail or its main website.

The company said in a statement that after extensive checks, the engineers could not find any faults. The company also said that the Chinese Government blockage has been smartly designed, to make it look like the problem is with Gmail. The authorities have said that the activists may be targeting a specific target. Two weeks ago, the search engine giant had also noticed some politically motivated attacks against certain users in China. Google has now taken the decision to shut down the mainland China website and start its operations in Hong Kong after the attacks from the hackers in China in 2009.

Google Inc. may soon launch a new social network service called ‘Google Circles’

Google Inc. is soon going to step into new horizons, as the company may soon launch a new social networking service called ‘Google Circles’. The news regarding this launch has been denied by Google but it does not mean that it has not plans regarding the social network.

If the news regarding the social network has a bit authenticity, then its shall offer the users with photo, video and status message sharing services. In this network, whatever the user shares will be in the limited direction only, and not will all the members who are joint with him.

Circles will provide stress on the fact that it shall keep the privacy of a person to itself. Still to keep the facts intact Google has not commented much on this service. It has been witnessed, Google has been way behind in the social networking sector and it will try to step into as soon as possible.

Steve Jobs Takes Medical Leave, Everyone Concerned About Apple’s Future

Steve Jobs, the man who is the driving force behind Apple, is said to have taken medical leave and now everyone is concerned about Apple’s future. Jobs has been on medical earlier too, which directly indicates that he is undergoing some health problems. Concerns are rising whether the company would prosper without its leader, as he has done exceptional work to build Apple’s image today.

Apple’s shareholders too are quite disappointed over the fact that the company has not informed them for how long is Jobs taking leave, or how serious is his health condition. Jobs is a survivor of Pancreatic Cancer and also has under gone liver transplant, which everyone knowns can create complications in the future.

On Monday, Jobs sent a word that he has been granted medical leave, and that he wants to concentrate more on his health. Jobs also added that he will surely take part in important decisions of the company, but would give up the day to day control. Jobs is the man who brought out Apple from its bankruptcy in the year 1997, and today it is one of the successful companies in the world.

Mahindra Thar Off Road Vehicle Launched In India, Priced Between 6-8 Lakhs

Mahindra Thar, an off road vehicle which is based on the legendary ‘Classic’ model has been launched in India, and has been priced between Rs. 6-8 lakhs. Mahindra had been considering of launching the vehicle in India since a long time, for it has been unveiled in many South Africa and other European countries before.

The Thar has its DNA linked with the MM550 AND MM540 models which were in India some years back. The Thar is powered by a 2.5L CRDe engine, made by Mahindra, which pumps out 105BHP. The vehicle is built for pure off roading and the the four wheel drive will always come handy.

Thar is not butch off roader that sacrifices luxury and style, luxury is just a small part of it as it comes equipped with air conditioning system, soft leather seats that look more like bucket seats, all wheel independent suspension and much more. The vehicle is a bit pricy but it will be it worth every cent. It is said that it will the direct contender to the Maruti Gypsy, who is dominating the Indian roads since the departure of the Jeep.

Yahoo Inc. To Lay Off 600-700 Workers, To Be Notified On Tuesday

Yahoo Inc. is all set to lay off around 600-700 workers from the company this month, the announcement and notification of the job cuts will be intimated on Tuesday this week. Yahoo is on the move to stabilize the company, in the form of job cuts, as their growth has been hindered drastically since a couple of years.

Reports also suggest that Yahoo has not made a formal announcement regarding the lay off. The job cuts will compromise around 5% of the total Yahoo work force, in addition to this, it is the fourth time Yahoo has undertaken such a massive job cuts in its company. The decision has been taken under the leadership of Carol Bartz, CEO of the company, who had been appointed two years back.

Bartz is said to be lacking considerably in having experience over the web and advertising industry, a region where Yahoo is specialized on most. The latest job cuts will not be surprising the employees in the company, as a matter of fact the decision of lay off’s was looming above the company since almost a month now.

Fiji Water To Shut Down Plant After Strong Dispute With Government

Fiji Water has decided to shut down its bottle processing water plant, after getting involved in a tax dispute with the local government. The company said that the government has raised the taxes by a massive amount, and will likely be paying 45 times more taxes than its current figures. It is really a point of big concern, especially for the 400 workers who work for this famous American brand.

Fiji is natural bottled water, which is shipped directly from the islands of Fiji, as a result it is an expensive branded drinking water. The reason the company has been shunned by the government is because the company uses more energy in transporting and manufacturing bottled water compared to other companies, in fact they waste lot of conventional energy and cause harm to the environment.

The Fijian government had to take a strict action against the company, as the company was extracting around 3.5 million ltrs of water from their country at a very low cost and transporting them to the US. In all it practically made no sense, as it was only plain water that people in US were buying after paying heavy cash.

Toyota India To Launch Its New Sedan Etios In December

Toyota announces its new car, ‘Etios’, specially designed for the Indian roads and customers. ‘Etios’ is one of Toyota’s much awaited cars in India, as it is said to be priced around Rs 5.25 lakhs.

According to sources, the Etios will prove to be a competiton for the models like Tata Indigo, Honda city and the Maruti Dzire. With a 1500 cc engine, Toyota will also launch a diesel version by the end of next year. “It will be placed around this price point as Toyota wants an aggressive stance in the market,” said a source.

Source also say, that about Rs 3,200 crores have been invested in the Toyota plant in Bengaluru. The plant is said to have a yearly capacity of 70,000 units. Toyota’s deputy Managing Director said that the actual price of the car will be announced on 1st December and the deliveries of the cars will begin in the month of January. The car is said to be launched by Akio Toyoda, Toyota’s global president.

Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows: Part 1 is said to be the most insular movies of all the series. With all the difficult and unfamiliar terms used in the film, it makes it difficult for the audience to understand such tongue twisting terms.

The regular characters of the movie such as Hagrid the giant and Remus the werewolf, appear for a very short span on screen. The later part of the movie has more adventure, and seems like more like a science fiction movie.

Harry and his best friends fight for the quest of the horcruxes i.e. the magical items containing pieces of Voldemort’s soul. It is a more traditional than an ancient kind of fairy tale.

Most of the movie has Harry, Ronn and Emma in the wild and the slack story telling makes it difficult to know how much time is spent. However the 2nd part only will conclude the most multipart movie in movie history.

Airtel New Logo 2010 Launched Before 3G Feature In India

Airtel New Logo 2010 has been launched in India just before their 3G service release this year end. Bharti Airtel is India’s largest private telecom company as of 2010, and the new logo is a move to promote the branding of the company at a whole new corporate level. The company is also due to launch the 3G service in the country, and it is scheduled by this year end.

The Airtel logo was unveiled at an event in New Delhi, and it looks that the company has massive plans to take this company to new horizons. At this event, Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, spoke about the future 3G service which will be provided by Airtel in India.

New plans also include, that A.R. Rahman will be coming up with the new Airtel tune on the latest TV commercial which will be coming soon. Airtel today has reached international status when we speak about their telecom sector, and they have stepped foot into almost all the fields and services available in the telecom market, which includes the 3G service too.
