The world has been shaken again!
A major earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit the southern part of Haiti on Tuesday, knocking down buildings and power lines and inflicting pain and destruction on the nation’s inhabitants.
News reports say that there has been tremendous damage to the area with bodies just lying on the streets of Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince.
There are no estimates yet of the death toll and injured but according to the U.S. State Department, they dread a “serious loss of life”.
Witnesses have told reporters that there were damaged buildings in the capital and that even a hospital collapsed.
Authorities fear that there are thousands of people missing and dead and are doing all they can to find survivors.
