Veteran Mexican movie actress, Linda Christian, who was known for her movies in the 40s, passed away in Palm Desert, California. Christian died of colon cancer at the age of 87.
Linda was known for being the first bond girl and was first noticed by Warner Bros. Later she had signed with MGM, when she was noticed by the studio chief Louis B Mayer’s secretary.
The Mexican beauty was also termed as the ‘anatomic bomb’ in one of the writings of the Life Magazine. In the year 1949, the actress had married the biggest star of the 20th Century, Tyrone Power.
But unfortunately, the marriage did not last long and had ended in the year 1956. The couple had two daughters Romina Power, who is a singer and Taryn Power who is an actress. Later some where in the 60s, the actress had got married to Edmund Purdom. But that marriage did not last long. Linda was popular for her role as Vesper Lynd, in which she had played the love interest of James Bond. She had featured in the TV adaptation of the Casino Royale opposite Barry Nelson as 007. The actress had also made her mark in the popular film The V.I.P.s which was released in the year 1963.
