‘Teen Mom’ star Amber Portwood, after alleged suicide attempt has been discharged from the hospital on Friday. Portwood was admitted to the St John’s Hospital in Anderson, Ind.
The actress was admitted on Tuesday and was possibly held for 72 hours for a psychiatric evaluation. On Tuesday, Portwood’s on and off boyfriend, Gary Shirley had called the police saying that the 21 year old might have harmed herself.
Shirley, who often has the custody of their 2 year old daughter Leah, on Thursday had written on Twitter that Portwood was safe and is getting the help that she needs right now. Later Shirley had revealed on Facebook that a special email address was set up for the fans, who would like to wish the actress a speedy recovery.
Shirley had announced that all the emails would be screened and any positive message would be printed and would be given to Amber. After the actress was hospitalized, Amber’s brother Shawn had alleged that his sister had committed suicide due to Shirley and Amber’s complicated relationship. Shawn had claimed that Shirley was constantly threatening Amber to take Leah away. In the year 2010, Portwood had announced that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but had not taken the diagnosis seriously.
