Metallica to perform in India in October

American heavy metal band Metallica have officially announced that they will be performing in India. The band will be performing in two concerts according to the notification at their official website.

Metallica in a statement said that this is the first time they will be performing in India. The first concert will be held in New Delhi on the 28th of October 2011, at the F1 Rocks Sector 29 in Gurgaon. The band will be performing on the occasion to celebrate the first Grand Prix race in India.

The second concert will be held in Bangalore in the state of Karnataka on 30th October 2011. The concert will be held at the Bangalore Palace Ground, which will be a part of the Sonisphere Festival. The bassist of the band, Robert Trujillo had earlier mentioned the Indian trip of the band in an interview on 23rd April.

Trujillo had said that it would be interesting for the band to perform in a place, where they had never imagined even in their wildest dreams. The bassist added that it would be an honor for them to perform and share their music with their fans in India. The tickets for the concert will go on sale from 4th May on ticketgenie.in and dnanetworks.com.
