Astronomers state, the moon will be closest to the earth on the 19th March 2011. This event is also knowns as the Lunar Perigee, directly opposite to the lunar apogee. Keeping this spectacular event in mind some critics have concluded that the moon’s nearness to the earth could have caused the Japanese earthquake and also a possible tsunami.
