It has been confirmed, there is radiation leaking out of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, especially after a huge explosion that took place at the facility. Reports also show the outer walls of the nuclear power plant have been blown off and there are fears the reactor core could turn into a molten mass very soon.
Explosion at the nuclear power plant blew off the roof and thus it exposed a lot of material to the outside perimeter of the campus. Several workers have been injured during the explosion and they have been taken to the hospital for further care. The earthquake which struck Japan was measured at magnitude 8.9 on the Richter scale.
TV channels have been showing the world clippings of the smoke rising out of the nuclear power plant, the damage was extensive. The total number of people who have been killed in the earthquake and the tsunami were around 600, and there are fears this number can also rise till 1300, for there are several people who are reported to be missing.
