An assassination attempt has taken place in Egypt to kill Vice President Omar Suleiman, and the attack has rather failed but at the cost of two bodyguards. The assassination attempt was thoroughly organized as his motorcade was passing by, where the attackers preyed on him. Omar Suleiman had taken the seat of VP in Egypt on the 29th of January 2011, and it was quite shocking to him to see the reaction from the country’s rebels.
The United States on the other hand has refused to comment over the attacks and this is something that is just quite worrisome. Egypt has been boiling with unrest and violence since weeks, demanding a radical change in government and leadership.
As per the latest reports, Omar Suleiman was qualified to take the interim leadership once Mubarak made an exit. President Mubarak on the other hand has confirmed he will quit his 30 year old regime over Egypt, but only after the September elections.
