The Chief Minister of Andra Pradesh, K Rosaiah announced his resignation on Wednesday, stating that he was not able to handle the work pressure due to his age. Rosaiah submitted his resignation to the Governer ESL Narsimhan, and requested him to accept his resignation with immediate effect.
A new chief minister will be elected on Wednesday evening in an emergency meeting which will be held by the Congress Legislature Party. Rosaiah had taken up the chief minister’s post, after Y S Rajasekhara died in a helicopter crash.
“There is no specific reason. Because of my age and because of the situation I am not able to withstand. So I sought permission from the high command for my resignation and at last they have agreed and permitted me. I am grateful to the high command, particularly Srimati Sonia Gandhi,” Rosaiah said.
Sources say that Rosaiah resigned due to the pressure which came up against Jaganmohan Reddy, when one of the programs in his channel “sakshi” had criticized the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
