The 24 hour Telegu channel named ‘Sakshi’ owned by MP Jagan Mohan Reddy, projected Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi in bad light, in a one- hour program on Friday . The Law minister M Veerappa Moily reportedly said that it is a serious issue.
“It is a very serious issue… I have received the reports from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah and PCC”, Moily said.
The news channel is owned by the 38 year old son of late chief minister Rajasekhar Reddy, Kadapa MP. CEO of Sakshi Priyadarshini Ram has rejected the allegations about showing the Prime Minister and the Congress President in bad light, and that Jaganmohan Reddy had no intervention in the content of the program.
“Jaganmohan Reddy, on the day of the inauguration of this media house, made one specific statement saying that this channel would be unbiased, truthful and clear-headed. There is no effort from Jaganmohan Reddy or intervention by him on the content of Sakshi television,” Ram had said. He also clarified that no changes were made in the content of the program.
