Pancreatic Cancer Could Take Decades To Kill It’s Victims

Latest studies have revealed that, Pancreatic cancer could easily take decades to kill it’s victims, who have been diagnosed with it. There have been very few survivors of pancreatic cancer in the past five years which amounts to less than five percent. Till date the disease was said to be a quick killer of it’s victims, but studies have now shown some shocking discoveries.

At the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, scientists have been studying this disease from some time now. They have taken body samples from the victims who have died of this disease, and then used a molecular clock to determine the age of mutations, what they found was horrifying.

Some of the tumors which have been studied are almost 20 years old, which means it took almost two decades to snap the life out its victims. The chief scientist stated that these are rugged tumors, which take preferably very long time to evolve, even decades. The worst part is pancreatic cancers show very few signs, it reacts only after it has done credible damage to its victim.
