Chennai Super Kings are Champions League T20 2010 winners, and this time Dhoni’s team has proved that they worth being IPL Winners too. The Chennai team beat South Africa’s East Cape Warriors by a mind blowing 8 wickets in the final match at the New Wanderers, Johannesburg on Sunday. Murli Vijay and Michael Hussey proved to be the epicenter of the whole match, as it was their blissful innings that Chennai managed to win the finals.
The Warriors were restricted to a sloppy 128/7, thanks to Chennai’s strict and consistent bowling attack, which did not give the Warriors batsmen to fire up against the Super Kings. The target was relatively quite small, but Chennai could not underestimate their opposition, and as a result of which they steered into victory by scoring 129 with one extra over to spare.
Murli became the highest runs scorer in the tournament, by scoring 294 runs in six matches, only eight runs more than Warriors Davy Jacobs. At the end of the historic match, it was Michael and Dhoni who stood not out on the pitch to witness their team enter into the history books as they became champions. As winners the Chennai Super Kings received $2.5 million for being Champions of the second season of CLT20, another feather in Dhoni’s hat.
