Jamuna Devi, Madhya Pradesh Opposition Leader Passes Away At 81

Jamuna Devi, Madhya Pradesh Opposition leader passed away early morning on Friday, at the age of 81. She was an important figure in the politics of Madhya Pradesh, and she will be missed by many. Her family, relatives and friends are in grief after the news of her death. She is survived by her daughter and MLA Nephew Umang Singhar.

Mrs. Jamuna Devi was battling with stomach cancer for a long time, she had been under strong medication, but it seems it did not have much affect on her health, as she eventually passed away. Several days before her death, she was hospitalized, and by yesterday she was shifted to the Intensive Care, due to her critical health.

She had represented the Dhar district’s Kukshi, and she also served as a Deputy Chief Minister during the period of Digvijay Singh’s government. She had stepped into politics, in the year 1952, when she was elected in Madhya Bharat Assembly. She was intellectually a very strong woman, best at her principles and favorite for her people, she will be missed by everyone.
