Earthquake tremors have been felt in the regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and it is reported that the quake was of a 6.3 magnitude. The US Geological Survey has stated that this particular earthquake is known to be a deep earthquake as the source of the quake was 199 kms below the surface. The quake struck the Hind Kush region of Afghanistan late on Friday evening.
According to the experts, the quake in the Middle East has caused no extensive damage. The quake epicenter was located to be 75 kms south southeast Fayzabad, a district in Badakhshan Province of northern Afghanistan. Earthquake tremors have been felt in Pakistan too.
It is reported that apart from Afghanistan, minor tremors were felt in Tajikistan, northern regions of Pakistan and India. The US Geological Survey has stated that there has been no extensive damage in any of the regions, as the depth of the earthquake was very deep, and most of the shocks were absorbed in earth below.
