The Muslims world will be celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr 2010 on Friday, 10th September. Eid is a very special day from the people in Islam, as this is the day that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan/Ramzan. Muslim people will be engrossed in prayers and prayer services at Mosques, greeting and celebrating the day with fellow Muslims around the world.

In arabic the word Eid means ‘breaking’ and Fitr means ‘Fast’ so Eid-ul-Fitr means breaking of fast. So people will be breaking their fasts which they have observed daily during the month of Ramadan, and that this is a very special day to them and they will be celebrating Eid in their own special way.

Muslim families will be preparing food and other types of delicacies that are made during the festivity of Eid at the homes. The atmosphere in around the homes of Muslim families is very different and special, something that can be seen only on the day Eid.
