It is Ganesh Chaturthi 2010 season in India, and everyone will be celebrating the 10 day long festival in great enthusiasm. The festival is widely observed in Mumbai and Maharashtra, and here the celebrations are worth to see, because the atmosphere which is created for the Ganesh festival by the Mumbaikars is seen only in Mumbai itself.
During Ganesh Chaturthi, people bring and install a clay idol of lord Ganesh at their homes and societies, and stays there for 10 days. During these 10 days people worship Ganesh with their hearts and minds as he is considered to be the lord of Wisdom, Prosperity and an ender of atrocities. On the 10th Day the people basically take out processions on the street and take the Ganesh idol to be immersed in the sea or lake, this marks the end of Ganesh Chaturthi.
