Tropical Storm Igor Starts To Take Shape In The Eastern Atlantic Ocean

The Hurricane season is not yet over, so now we have a new tropical storm Igor, coming up in the eastern Atlantic and now it has started to take shape. This will be the ninth storm that has been named in the Hurricane season of 2010. Igor has started to form in the Eastern Atlantic, which is off the coast of Africa.

At around 02.00 pm, the new storm was stationed some 80 miles of Praia, in the Cape Verde Islands. For the moment it has been reported that Igor has sustained wind speeds of 40 mph and is moving steadily west at 6 mph.

The Cape Verde authorities have declared a tropical storm watch over the islands. The National Hurricane Center in Miami has started to keep a watch on Igor, and has stated that it will be keeping a path mostly towards the west. In the next couple of days Igor will be strengthening itself slowly and it is projected that in almost a weeks time it will be trekking the Atlantic as a Category 2 storm with wind speeds of 100 mph.
