Tropical Storm Hermine, the recent Gulf storm, has successfully made a strong landfall in Mexico on Tuesday. The storm brought in heavy rains and strong winds and pelted the region which had seen Hurricane Alex earlier this year. Hermine made landfall in Mexico on Monday, and caused almost one feet of rain to come down in some areas, causing flash floods.

It entered the region as a category 1 storm and has sustained wind speeds of 65 mph. The tropical storm was very strong in this region as it made some 3500 people evacuate from Matamoros in Mexico on the border of the country. The National Hurricane Center has placed Hermine 20 miles away from Brownsville, Texas, which is pretty close for a storm of this size.
Tropical storm Hermine has entered the US lands and is making quite a presence there too, as officials have warned people about this storm well before hand. Powers were out in the neighborhood of Brownsville and authorities are just waiting that Hermine should pass away.
