Accusing Syria In Rafik Hariri Killing Was Not Right: Sa’ad Hariri

Prime Minister of Lebanon, Sa’ad Hariri has stated that he had done wrong when he accused Syria in the assassination of his father, Rafik Hariri in the year 2005. It is a major political turnaround for the Lebanon government where Hariri has taken back his claim of assassination over Syria.

In the year 2005, Rafik Hariri was assassinated when a truck bomb exploded in Beirut. Since then his son Sa’ad has accused Syria of assassinating his father. He told a Saudi Newspaper, that this was a political assassination and it was a political accusing on Syria, but now it has ended here.

It had been for 30 years that the Syria-Lebanon border had been heated up with troops on the either side, and with the killing of Rafik in 2005 it just got worse. There were protests on both sides and that time Syria backed out. In one way this is a good sign but who can know what can be behind this.
