Flood Situation Hovering Over Indian Capital New Delhi

New Delhi has been taking mother nature’s beating from that past couple of weeks as rains in India’s capital has made life impossible for people living in the city. The main threat now which is arising is that rising water level in the river Yamuna. Yamuna is one of the largest and the main source of water supply for the Delhi region.

New Delhi has been lashed with rains consistently from the past three days and has been under the threat of flood ever since. Yamuna has crossed the flood level mark and is flowing at 205 meters, and experts are saying that it is flowing some 11cm above the danger level mark.

Before the situation gets grim in the low lying areas, the authorities have asked the people to evacuate their houses and move to higher places. If it will be necessary, government will also put some relief camps for the people affected by the flood.
