Under the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) there is a scheme called National Talent Search Scheme (NTSS) which identifies the intelligent students and looks after them through scholarships. These scholarships are usually on the monthly basis.
For applying for this year’s NTSS scholarship, the last date for application is August 31, 2010. The examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands would be held on November 20, 2010, Saturday, whereas the exam for all other states and the Union Territories, the exam would be conducted on November 21, 2010, Sunday.
The interested parents or the guardians of the students should contact the State/UT Liaison Officer for the application form or directly download from the official website of the NCERT.

The students studying in standard eighth of recognized schools are eligible to take part in the scholarship examination.
