Around 50 Iranian Dissidents To Be Provided Asylum In Germany

The German government has shown its hand of courtesy once again, as it is offering an asylum for about 50 Iranians, who had taken part in the post elections riots in Iran last year. A spokesperson representing Germany’s Interior Ministry, said that 12 of the 50 people have already arrived in Germany, and one is expected to arrive in the following week.

He also added that most of the dissidents are halting in Turkey for the moment, as Germany would be examining their cases one by one. The German government had planned to bring 20 people from Iran, but later increased the number to 50.

Germany had to increase the number to 50 after a human rights group, Reporters Without Borders, complained that there is already a group of Iranian people living in exile in Germany, and that Germany is not doing enough for such people.
