Empty Gas Cylinder Found Floating Off Mumbai Coast

One empty gas cylinder has been found off the coast of Mumbai floating in the sea . This cylinder was neutralized after the chlorine gas leak incident that took place in Sewree last week, as per the statement of the fire officials. The empty chlorine cylinder surfaced off the coast of Worli on Wednesday night, as a result there was an atmosphere of panic in residing areas.

Last week in the area of Sewree, under the Mumbai Port Trust Authority, some chlorine tanks started leaking, as a result many people had fallen sick and were transported to the hospital. The National Defense Response Team had degassed the chlorine tanks and two of the empty tanks were dispersed into the deep sea.

But on Wednesday night, panic was created when one of the chlorine tanks was found floating of the coast of Worli.The NDRF had neutralised these tanks and disposed them off into the deep Arabian sea. The NDRF have again found the cylinder and have stated that the cylinder is empty, but just for the precautionary measures, they are checking if it still has any gas in it.
