Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Village Administrative Officer (VAO) Exam

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has notified for the examination for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO), 2010.

The question papers will be set in two formats:

1. General knowledge with General Tamil

2. General knowledge with General English

The exam will be of three hours.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, has announced notification for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO) exam 2010. The TNPSC conducts several examination to fill up the vacant posts in the Tamil Nadu state of India. Details on the VAO exam 2010 are given below for the information purpose:

Village Administrative Officer (Post Code No.2025) in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service(2009-2010)Service Code.050 – No. of vacancies = 1576

Only one application is to be sent by the SC/SC(A)/ST candidates who wish to be considered for the regular and the shortfall vacancies.

Several reservation rules apply.

Every person appointed to the post shall furnish a Cash Security of Rs.2000/- ( Rupees Two thousand only) within a period of one month from the date on which he/she joins duty

Every person appointed to the post shall reside in the Village under his charge and shall continue to reside in the said Village so long as he holds the post.

Age requirement: Min 20 years, Max 30 years. Relaxation for SC and other categories.

Educational requirement: Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of studies. Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil, and have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination with Tamil. Candidates who do not possess adequate knowledge in Tamil may also apply. If selected they should pass the Second Class Language Test within a period of two years from the date of appointment.
