The ex- President of India APJ Abdul Kalam urges educational institutions to focus on the research and development. He feels that the research is very essential for the growth of the countries.
He feels that it is the responsibility of the teachers to inspire and encourage the students to take up research.
Kalam said, “The quality of an educational institution is being judged based on its Research and Development. Research is fundamental for the growth of any country”.
“The foundation of research is creativity and innovativeness and creativity will be the key for India’s emergence as a developed nation in this knowledge economy,” he added.
Kalam said that fields like agriculture, food processing, automobiles, ship building, information and communication offer great career options and that the students should consider these options as well.
Solar and atomic energy would be the source of electricity in future, informed Kalam.
