Udaan is all about the estranged relationship between the father and a son. A stepfather, who has to dominating every time and also control all the aspiration of his son.
The movie also highlights on the parents unnecessary academic hopes from their children which burden them. Here the protagonist of the film Rohan, enacted by newbie in the film industry Rajat Barmecha, has to pursue engineering against his will to become a writer.
Later on the story does move in our hero’s stride when he opens his wings to actually do what he ‘feels’ and not he ‘has’ to do.
The screenplay and direction by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyab is very natural and does not give the feel of melodrama. The youngsters along with their parents will relate with the film.
All in all, this movie along with entertainment teaches some values too. All the actors have justified to their roles. The central roles are played by Ronit Roy (father), Ram Kapoor, Aayan Boradia, Anand Tiwari and Rajat Barmecha.
